Event Description:Focus: HOPE Open House Highlights Education Opportunities Detroit -- Attendees at Focus: HOPE’s Career Training Open House will learn about education and training opportunities – and may receive a $1,000 scholarship to set them on the path toward a new career. The open house will be held on Wednesday, March 17, from noon until 6 p.m., in the Center for Advanced Technologies, 1400 Oakman Boulevard, Detroit. The $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualified attendees. Admissions advisors will be on hand to explain how qualified students can access financial aid and scholarships to finance their education. Education options include training in machining and CNC operations, certification programs in information technology, a new weatherization program that prepares students for green jobs; and a new Healthcare Career Training program that prepares students for Patient Care Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant jobs. Focus: HOPE also offers a skill enhancement course that enables students to dramatically improve reading, math and communication skills. Graduates of the programs are eligible for college degree programs in engineering and information management / systems engineering.
