A senior attorney in the firm's Kalamazoo office, Keith A. Peterson recently joined Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest's oldest and largest law firms, as an member of its Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Group.

An attorney with over 27 years experience in private and in-house corporate law department practice, Peterson represents clients in the areas of creditors' rights, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.

Before joining Plunkett Cooney, Peterson was employed by PNC Bank, National Association (formerly National City Bank) for over 22 years where he served as Assistant General Counsel and Creditors' Rights Practice Chair managing legal services for commercial lending and workout groups in the bank's national markets.

An AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Peterson has written and lectured on contract law and negotiable instruments. From 1995 to 1997, he was a presenter for the Lawyers' Bar Review in Indiana, lecturing on negotiable instruments.

Peterson is admitted to practice in Michigan, as well as in the state and federal courts in Indiana. He received his law and undergraduate degrees from Valparaiso University.

The members of Plunkett Cooney's Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Practice Group have represented banks, savings and loan associations, mortgage companies, credit unions and finance companies for over 25 years. Members of the group have nearly 110 years of combined experience as in-house bank counsel prior to joining the firm.
